Diamond Jubilee Beacon
Sherington celebrated Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee by lighting a beacon on the top of The Mound on Chicheley Hill on 4th June 2012. Following an introduction by the Chairman of the Parish Council, David Keene, the beacon was lit at 10.15pm by Philip Smith. The event was organised by the Parish Council and was one of the 4000 beacons lit around the UK and the Commonwealth, the last being lit by the Her Majesty The Queen herself outside Buckingham Palace.

Microsoft's Windows Media Player in Windows 7 can be used, but not earlier versions. MP4 files can also be played using the free GOM player. The file is large (54Mb) and the time needed for download will depend on your internet connection - it could take several minutes.
