SHERINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
  Open Morning
Some of the many attendees at the Parish Council Open Day
  • The Parish Council held a very successful Open Morning on Saturday 19 February in the Village Hall. Many Sherington residents took the opportunity to find out about Parish Council activities and plans. Five of the Parish Councillors were on hand to answer questions on subjects such as the undergrounding of some of the electricity cables (which Central Networks will be starting in Water Lane on 7 March), the village appraisal, and council finances.
  • A representative of Milton Keynes Council had details of the new Newport Pagnell/Olney cycleway, which will run along the High Street. South of the village the existing footpath will be enhanced to serve the needs of the cyclists too, but north of the village cycle lanes will be painted on the existing carriageway. MKC Cllr Graham Mabbutt was also in attendance.

  • The Sherington Residents Management Group were on hand with details of the planned improvements to the Perry Lane Sports Field, car parking area and pavilion.
  • The Rector had details of the current facilities at St Laud's and the church development plans, which strike a balance between the need to improve the facilities for users and conservation and heritage issues.
  • There was also information on Neighbourhood Watch and possible designs for a Shelter that can be used by young people. Refreshments were provided by the Youth Club.
