Lathbury Minerals Site - 17/00593/EIASCO

  • GP Planning Ltd has submitted a Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Scoping Request to Milton Keynes Council on behalf of Smiths Construction. It relates to the proposed Lathbury Minerals Extraction Site.

  • Details of the application are available in the documents in the Planning Portal section of the MKC web site:

  • Some features of the proposals that affect Sherington are as follows:

    • Mineral extraction will take place right up to Sherington Bridge. The properties there will be immediately adjacent to the extraction.

    • The plant will be placed at the north east end of the site, i.e. the closest point of the site to End Farm.

    • A total of 40 HGV movements are envisaged each day - 20 in each direction. These vehicles will be routed across Sherington Bridge and up Chicheley Hill, rather than through Lathbury and Newport Pagnell.

    • On the Context Map (extract below), a second access route is shown along the Sherington river bank. It appears to use the track through Stonepits Copse.
